When it comes to the over all setup design of the add, I wanted to stay with the ideas of gestalt's continuity. I wanted to all look the same, This was a challenge because we ad shipping issues with the clothes we actually wanted the models to wear and actually getting them here. But we did what we could with what we had. I wanted the ideas of balance to play effect that although the pictures were all varying sizes color and texture, that it still felt balanced, while staying away from a basic squared up placing of the photos.
For the front page I wanted to give it some depth, so I over lapped the photos with the logo. I liked the fact that Hailen and I without much conversation placed the same two photos in the same place in both our designs of the website and the ad. Which goes to say a bit of our planed design concept and that we both understood what we wanted to create. I also placed the simplified logo at the top of the page so that you will recognize Rosstein when you see it.
So i don't know why this page seems to have a gray tint around it, cause it shouldn't. When it is all simplfied white it seems like a page that is empty but also full at the same time. I placed the logo upside down so that it makes your brain activate and think thats not normal, you stop and pay more attention to the page rather than glaze over it quickly. I photoshopped the red shirt De'vante is wearing because the original print was dark and hard to identify, so I changed it and also placed the logo on the hat so that you could see it on product.
For this page I wanted you to be able to simply see the clothing on the models as a full body shot, as well as see the versatility of the clothing and that you can fit many different needs with the clothing.
For the final page I wanted you to see the clothing in actual life situations rather than just in preset conditions. As I commented in the first section, I stated that I wanted the ideas of balance to play effect although the pictures were all varying sizes color and texture, that it still felt balanced, while staying away from a basic squared up placing of the photos. I also wanted to sell the brand and give you a reason to see more from us. this look book/ ad for magazines, will be found in the packages Rosstein ships, and in magazine articles.
